Edna III

On July 30, 1944, STAG-1 staged an operational test from Sunlight Field. Four TDRs were launched in an “attack” against a grounded Japanese freighter. Here (in what appears to be a staged photo) the “Edna III” is readied: the fairing is attached over the cockpit hole, a 2000-lb bomb strapped underneath, and Block given a final check-out.
